Luxury Wellness & Culture Retreat in
PORTUGAL
A STORYBOOK WEEK IN THE HILLS OF SINTRA
Tucked between misty mountains and the wild Atlantic coast, our home for the week is a historic Sintra estate once owned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle — a setting of palace gardens, forested trails, and old-world charm. Each day is infused with thoughtful rhythm: mornings of yoga and stillness, afternoons among cliffside vineyards and Cascais sailing, evenings of candlelit dinners, regional wines, and live music. Every moment designed for your renewal.

DAILY ITINERARY
A Portugal Dreamscape
A sample itinerary—subject to slight changes as the magic unfolds.

DAY 1
Welcome to the Magic of Sintra
You've arrived in the heart of the Sintra mountains, where misty forests and whimsical palaces set the tone for an unforgettable journey. Settle into our private estate — tucked among ancient trees and garden paths — and breathe in the beauty that surrounds you. We'll gather on the green lawn for a golden-hour welcome reception with craft cocktails and live music, followed by a candlelit dinner crafted by a beloved local chef and perfectly paired with regional wines. The magic has begun.
-

Day 2
Palaces, Pastries & Vineyard Lunch
Morning yoga in the green glasshouse and breakfast on the terrace, then we set off in open-air jeeps. We'll pause in Sintra's charming village for Portugal's beloved pastry before exploring the enchanting Quinta da Regaleira with our local guide. From there, we cruise the rugged Atlantic coastline on our way to a vineyard lunch paired with regional wines. Back home for a laid-back BBQ dinner and a cozy movie night under the stars.
-

DAY 3
Roam & Restore
A full day to settle into your own rhythm. Head down to the beach, lounge by the pool, book a spa treatment, or hire a driver and spend the day wandering Lisbon. For those who prefer to stay close, we'll be offering a hands-on Portuguese cooking class with regional wine pairings — a fun, food-forward way to spend the afternoon. Tonight, we dine off-property at a stunning restaurant overlooking the rugged Atlantic coastline.
-

DAY 4
Coastal Adventure & Seaside Hike
Yoga in the glasshouse and a leisurely breakfast, followed by a scenic coastal walk — about 45 minutes of fresh ocean air and dramatic cliffside views — leading to a beachside restaurant for a leisurely seafood lunch and chilled rosé. After lunch, change into your suit and head straight to the private beach just steps away, where reserved loungers, umbrellas, and refreshing treats await for a relaxed afternoon on one of Sintra's most beautiful stretches of sand. Back at the property, a laid-back BBQ dinner by the pool.
-
DAY 5
By mid-week, you've found your rhythm — easy mornings on the mat, laughter-filled meals, and sun-soaked afternoons. Today is your reset. Move at your own pace: lounge by the pool, book a massage, hike the hills, or revisit a village you loved. Tonight, we gather off-property at a beautiful local Adega for a memorable dinner of regional wines and live Fado music — an evening that celebrates connection, presence, and the magic of the week.
-

DAY 6
Cascais Sailing & Final Farewell
After morning yoga and breakfast, we head to the coastal gem of Cascais. Spend the late morning exploring this colorful seaside town before meeting at the marina for a private luxury catamaran sail with champagne, sushi, and live music. Back on property, downtime before our final-night celebration — an on-site Michelin-style dinner with heartfelt toasts and a beautiful farewell to new friends.
-

DAY 7

One final breakfast, one last view of the Sintra mountains, one deep, grateful breath. Though our time here ends, you'll leave with a full heart, a nourished body, and a sense of connection that lingers long after the journey home.

Meet Your Host
After 15 years in corporate leadership — while teaching yoga, coaching speakers, and building community-rooted nonprofits — I felt called to bring it all together. That's how LDW Coaching & Retreats began.
These retreats are thoughtfully designed to offer more than just a beautiful escape. They're a return to what matters most — rooted in presence, beauty, and connection, and built to create space for rest, growth, and meaningful community.
Whether we're flowing on a yoga mat, sharing a meal, or watching the sun set over the Mediterranean, my hope is simple: that you leave feeling more grounded, more connected, and more yourself.

THE FAQS
-
Fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS). From there, our Sintra estate is a 25–35 minute drive (in normal traffic), straight up either the A5 or IC19. Once your flights are booked, we'll connect you with our trusted local driver service to coordinate transfers — at your own expense.
-
Late September in Sintra: mild, pleasant days (highs around 75°F / 24°C) and cool evenings (lows around 63°F / 17°C). Generally low rainfall, though pack a light layer for evenings and a small umbrella just in case.
-
Yoga and active outdoor clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a light layer for cooler evenings, and casual clothes for dinners out. Leave a little space in your suitcase — you'll want room for finds along the way. Yoga mats are provided on property; no need to bring your own.
-
Your 50% deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable. The full-cancellation deadline is June 20, 2027 — cancellations after that date are non-refundable. We've designed this retreat to be almost entirely all-inclusive, with the property and all excursions privatized and booked well in advance, and our cancellation policy reflects the limited space and long lead time required.
-
Any and all dietary restrictions can be accommodated. We work closely with the property's chef to curate a menu special to our group, and the same goes for outings where meals are provided. Just let Lindsay know in advance and she'll coordinate with the team.
-
Europe as a whole is not a heavy tipping culture, but our local guides work with American travelers and have come to appreciate tips. If you feel inclined, plan to tip your drivers, bellman, and wait staff while off-property.
-
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for international trips to protect your investment against flight delays, lost luggage, and medical emergencies abroad. If you'd like a recommendation, I work with Sharon Creasy at Elevation Travel: sharon@elevtionstvl.com | 404-626-4997.
